MASS SCHEDULE & INTENTIONS FOR THE COMING WEEK:

FROM THE DESK OF FR. BONA: On February 20, we are going to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the consecration of its church. Consecration is a solemn dedication to a special purpose or service. The word consecration literally means “association with the sacred.” Persons, places, or things can be consecrated. The origin of the word comes from the Latin consecrare, which means dedicated, devoted, and sacred. In the case when a church is consecrated, it means that it has been set apart. It is no longer an ordinary building, but it is exclusively devoted to the worship of God and those matters that do not go against the holiness of the place.
After some consultation, I decided to have only one Mass next Sunday. Thus, next Sunday there is not going to be a Mass at St. Emeric and so we will welcome the parishioners of St. Emeric here with us. This anniversary is a significant celebration in the life of the Catholic Hungarian community in Cleveland and I believe that there are times when we need to come together and support one another. When St. Emeric will have a significant anniversary, I am planning to have only one Mass there and invite you to join St. Emeric parishioners for the celebration. I keep you all in my prayers every day. God bless, Fr. Bona
CELEBRATION OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CONSECRATION OF THE CURRENT CHURCH OF ST. ELIZABETH PARISH: On February 20th, we will celebrate the aforementioned anniversary. The Mass will be at 10AM and Bp. Edward Malesic will be the main celebrant. The repaired bells will be blessed and afterwards a light reception will take place. All of you are invited! For planning purposes, please RSVP to Virginia Kachmar (calling home: 216-791-6270 or cell: 216-246-2370).

BLESSING OF MARRIED COUPLES (from the Roman Ritual): We praise you, O God, we bless you, Creator of all things, who in the beginning made man and woman that they might form a communion of life and love. We also give you thanks for graciously blessing the family life of your servants, so that it might present an image of Christ’s union with the Church. Therefore look with kindness upon them today, and as you have sustained their communion amid joys and struggles, renew their Marriage covenant each day, increase their charity, and strengthen in them the bond of peace, so that (together with the circle of their children that surrounds them,) they may forever enjoy your blessing. + In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
