FROM THE DESK OF FR. BONA: This week I would like to share with you some news. Our diocesan bishop, Bp. Malesic, has named me the pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary parish and also the pastor of St. Emeric parish. Since these are two different offices, I will have to be installed in each parish separately. The installation at St. Emeric will take place on February 6th at the regular Sunday Mass. The Mass and the installation will be presided by Bp. Martin Amos. The installation here at St. Elizabeth will take place on February 20th when Bp. Malesic will be here to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the consecration of our current church building and bless the bells.

I am grateful to Bp. Malesic for his trust in me. Even though I am the one receiving a new title for my ministry here at the parish, this news is more about us as a parish and less about me. Naming of a pastor is a sign of stability and confidence of the diocese in us as a community of the Christian faithful.

A PRAYER BEFORE THE READING OF ANY PART OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES:Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts and minds of your faithful servants and inflame them with the fire of your Divine love. LET US PRAY. O God who by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of your faithful servants grant us in the same Spirit to discern what is right and enjoy his comfort for ever. Through our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns one God with you and the same Spirit world without end. Amen.

CELEBRATION OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CONSECRATION OF THE CURRENT CHURCH OF ST. ELIZABETH PARISH: On February 20th, we will celebrate the aforementioned anniversary. The Mass will be at 10AM and Bp. Edward Malesic will be the main celebrant. The repaired bells will be blessed and afterwards a light reception will take place. All of you are invited!
