TODAY’S MASS INTENTION: Parishioners of St. Elizabeth Parish
MASS SCHEDULE & INTENTIONS FOR THE COMING WEEK:
|November||20||Saturday||9:00 AM||Traditional Latin Mass|
|November||21||Sunday||9:15 AM||Klára Tóth, by the Karácsony Family|
FROM THE DESK OF FR. BONA: Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Elizabeth, the patron of our church. Her feast in the Hungarian calendar is on November 19 (in the universal calendar on the 17th), but the diocesan liturgical regulations allow the holiday to be moved to the nearest available Sunday. A warm welcome also to our guest who may be visiting our church today. We are happy that you are here today and we hope to see you again (or perhaps more often here in our church).
On this occasion, I would like to thank all of you (both parishioners and our friends) who have contributed with your gifts, talents and treasures to our parish in this past year. Your bigheartedness is appreciated and not taken for granted. May God reward you! By the doors of the church, on the bulletin board, the financial report for the fiscal year of 2021 has been posted. Officially, we had a gain, but it is due to the evaluation of the stock market. As we all know, the market can very easily go down as well. We try to lower the costs of running the parish (and this year we were able to do so), but still it cost $142,328.10 to operate the parish. If we set aside the stock market evaluation, the income was $80,340.25. As you could see, in the long run this is not sustainable. I am highlighting these numbers so that we are all aware of our financial situation. Given also the general situation of the pandemic in the past year, I believe that all of you showed a great spirit of generosity. However, let us think together how we can help our church. I will keep you all in my prayers and will offer a Mass for all our benefactors in the near future.
The greatest treasure, however, that a parish can have are faith-filled, holy people. That is the purpose and reason or existence of every parish. As Saint Paul says in his first letter to the Corinthians, at the end faith, hope, and love remain (greatest of these being love that will continue into eternity with us). May Saint Elizabeth intercede for us to continue to grow in holiness and become people whose faith is fervent, hope is strong, and charity is perfect. Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, pray for us! God bless you all! Fr. Bona

VALIDATION OF PARKING TICKETS AT ST. EMERIC: If you come to events at St. Emeric church, please know that we were informed by the company that services the Westside Market parking lot that the parking tickets must be validated just before one leaves (and not several hours in advance). Several people last week validated their tickets before the Mass and then stayed there for the dinner and by the time they were leaving, the validation no longer worked.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE DECEASED. Frank Tárcsay recently passed away and was buried on October 29, 2021 next to his wife, Julia. Funeral Mass for Frank will be held this Wednesday, November 17, at 11AM, here at St. Elizabeth church.
THIS SUNDAY the 11:00 AM Mass from St. Elizabeth church will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/saint-elizabeth-of-hungary-church-cleveland-oh-384926355393572 and on the website, https://stemeric.com/
